Inbunden bok. A. Bettesworth . First uppl. 1726.

Mycket gott skick. First edition of this fishing manual, one of the earliest works of its kind.

The work has traditionally been attributed to a George Smith and contains the first appearance of the delightful “Angler’s Song,” together with recipes, fishing methods for various species, fly-tying instructions, and related material. It quickly became a standard handbook of the eighteenth century and was reprinted, with additions, between 1736 and 1786. It later appeared in several revised forms under various titles, as late as 1828 in London, including under the title The Angler’s Guide … By a Lover of the Art.
